Vacation Geography

We played the license plate game on the way up to The Dells. I had hoped the older two would be able to play but it turns out plates are hard to read driving 65mph down the interstate. Jonas was able to make out what went by him. Which worked out for the best because once we got home he had another activity to do.


It is hard to see on here but Jonas took our list and circled all the states and provinces we saw. We then talked about the distance some of the people would have driven to be on the same roads we were on. The blue line is our route.

We had lots of fun doing this, I hope this game proves to be just as exciting next year, with two able to participate, and a longer drive to and from vacation.

We found 29 states and Ontario!

cool mom confession

If you ask my kids what they like best when staying at a hotel you will hear "jumping on the bed!" This will, of course, be accompanied by them jumping up and down. I let them jump until they are all jumped out. As they grow the bed jumping is becoming more complex and causing me to cringe while watching. I solve this by simply leaving the room. I love seeing the joy on their faces after I remind them where we are and what that means. The sprint to the beds, kicking off of shoes, and then the bouncing begins!

This is when I usually leave the room! YIKES!
